Our Story

The Story of Camp Piedmont

4-H Camp Piedmont organized in 1948.  Eight surrounding counties--Belmont, Carroll, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, Noble, and Tuscarawas--joined forces to develop the rare gem.  Today  OSU Extension personnel from all eight counties and a very dedicated group of volunteers continue to update and maintain the facility and the grounds located in the Muskingum Water Conservancy District.

The camp is located on the shore of Lake Piedmont in northwest Belmont county and offers wonderful views of the lake. After significant fundraising and many hours from dedicated volunteers our camp is able to offer a wide range of activities.  The lakefront offers a dock with multiple watercraft options including a pontoon, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and even corcls (a round kayak).  There is a huge campfire ring along with multiple smaller campfire options.  We have several pavilions with one being very large and a dining hall with a full-service kitchen to go along with our many cabins.  We have a large in-ground pool and a shooting range.  Of course access to the surrounding forest and a trail leading to the famous "copperhead rock" provides an opportunity to enjoy nature based activities.
